Exchange 2019+ OLK 2016/2019 + Attachments

Shane King 31 Reputation points

We have recently moved a client from Exchange 2010 to 2019 Since the migration emails with Attachments have the attachment display as "Outlook Item". The users have to Click on the icon and Choose View to see what sort of attachment it is before they open. It initially seemed it did not know what the associated app was to pen the attachment.

We have noticed that:

You receive an email with an attachment the icon displays this way in the Inbox

If you forward the email, the attachment icon displays correctly

I have tried to find something in OLK documentation that refers to attachment behavior but found nothing.

    Hi @Shane King

How many migrated users encounter the issue?

Do attachments display correctly in OWA?

    • If attachments work well in OWA, please try recreating outlook profiles and check if the issue persists.
    • If attachments still not work correctly in OWA, to narrow down the issue if it is related with corrupted mailbox, could you try to migrate one problematic user to another database to check if this issue still continues? Since the migrating process will repair the corrupted mailbox.
