I've got to programmatically update a SharePoint 2013 list with entries from specific Active Directory OUs. So the question is, which lookup method would be faster: read an item in the list and look for it in AD, or read a user entry from AD and look for it in the list?
I am currently looking into this issue and will give you an update as soon as possible.

I am sorry that I don't quite understand what you mean, could you please provide some screenshot to explain the question more clearly?
I'm afraid I don't have a screenshot yet - just began working on the app - but maybe I can explain better.
The process would work like this:
1.) Open a connection to the SharePoint 2013 site.
2.) Create an object linked to the SP list in question.
3.) Open a connection to Active Directory using a specific OU.
4.) Here's where my question comes in - should I do this:
4a.) Loop through all the items in the SP list, and for each item, search AD for a matching user ID.
-- or --
4b.) Loop through AD, and for each user ID, search the SP list for a matching item?
Which would be faster/more efficient?
