Hello everyone.

Our environment plan to use OneDrive to replace network share drive. is this even possible? I did Google search and everyone said it not possible since OneDrive is personal drive and it would be extremely slow if used as traditional share drive.

Thanks for your help.

    Hi, @brichardi
OneDrive is an app for users to store files and share with others, and it is not recommended that you map it as a shared network drive, although OneDrive does.

    Hi @brichardi

    The answer is yes

    See details at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1051865/onedrive-shortcut-folder-structure-of-multiple-sha.html?childToView=1057961#answer-1057961

Note the solution is difficult to implement without automation to create shortcuts, but it is tested and works for applications needing static file server paths to locate configuration and reference data. Many engineering design systems use tools that still depend on file servers to share configuration and reference data.
