Black Screen on virtual Server 2019

Hi, we upgraded from our domain server version 2012R2 to 2019, now when logging in as the domain administrator, all I get is a black screen
When I do log in, the last thing it says before going to a black screen is ‘Preparing Windows.' I do have access to the task manager so I know it's not hung.
I have no issues logging into the server with my backup tech accounts - they work fine
This server is a virtual server running under VMware v6.5

    In-place upgrades are very risky and never recommended. Sounds like the profile may be corrupt. If you create a new account with local administrative rights, logon with new account, then after saving off docs, etc. from corrupt/abandoned profiles use Control Panel|Users and Passwords and delete the old profile stores. Then when you next logon a new profile is created from an image in \default user then you can copy your saved data back to new profile.

    This is what fixed the issue...
    Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options
    Enable "User Account Control: Admin Approval Mode for the Built-in Administrator account" which is set to "Not Defined"
    After that do a gpupdate /force en try to login as domain administrator again

    Last thing that I had to do was remove the duplicate profile
    Computer \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ProfileList

    Logged out and back in again and now things are back to normal.

    Thank you for the help, the link helped out.
