Source control does not work

Hey Azure Community!
I hope someone here may be able to help me understand what is happening to my automation account.
I know that "does not work" is a rather general statement, but that is exactly what is happening. I have an automation account and I configured a source control connection to one of my GitHub repos. It was working fine for some time, but it has not detected any changes in the last couple of months - I commit to the repo and the changes in the runbooks do not get reflected in Azure even after days or weeks. The only thing that still works is the "start sync" button within the source control config - I can still use it to manually trigger a sync.
I tried changing settings and removing the configuration completely (multiple times over multiple days), but both of these failed with the same error: "The gateway did not receive a response from 'Microsoft.Automation' within the specified time period". Service and resource health claim that everything is working normally.

@Rumen Avramov @Theo Gordon The issue with Incremental auto sync has been mitigated by the product team. Kindly check now if you are able to auto sync your runbooks.
