how to update an image with the recent windows updates?

Hello, how would I update sccm base images to include recent Windows Updates? Thank you.

Before we can apply software updates to it, we need the following prerequisites:
1. A software updates infrastructure
2. Successfully synchronized software updates
3. Downloaded the software updates to the content library on the site server

Have we already download the updates?

May we know the current status of the problem? Is there any other assistance we can provide?

It seems like having that software update infrastructure is the way to go. Any drawbacks or risks with setting one up? My place of work has had SCCM for years and I don't know why this was never setup. It is a big organization here, so I am wondering why they never set this up years ago.

There is no drawbacks or risks to set up software update infrastructure in SCCM, software update is one of the most used functions in SCCM.
Maybe your organization is managing updates by group policy or WSUS, but SCCM is more powerful at managing updates.
