On Azure Quantum Workspace, Jupyter Notebook folder won't open, can't create "New Notebook"

In the Quantum Workspace, under Jupyter notebooks, clicking the "Open" icon at the left of the "My notebooks" bar started a progress bar in the spot where the folder contents would appear. That progress bar has been progressing for a few months, over multiple logins. It has never opened.

The "Add New" button to the right of the un-openable folder goes through the motion of creating a new notebook (taking the name etc.), but the notebook is invisible, presumably hidden in the folder that won't open. Clicking the "..." gives three greyed out options: "New Notebook, Upload Notebooks, Refresh". Again, all of those options are greyed out.

In the Sample gallery (the menu item above "My notebooks") all of the "Copy to my notebooks" buttons are greyed out.

    Hello, @Green, Tony !

I'm going to summarize everything from the comments for anyone else who may run into this.

Why can't I create a "New Notebook"? Why won't the Jupyter Notebook folder open?
The notebook and related features require access to the linked storage account that is set up during the creation of the workspace:

    • Has there been a network interruption? (Firewall or other network restriction)
    • Is the linked storage account missing the role assignment needed from the Azure Quantum Workspace? (Instructions for adding the role assignment)
    • Is the linked storage account still active? (Make sure the linked storage account wasn't accidentally deleted)

If all else fails, you can create a new workspace using Quick Create and default settings. This will create a new workspace, storage account, and create the proper role assignments:
