Virtual Desktop stops working properly after a while on Windows XP

So I have Windows XP Pro x64 on my VMware Workstation 16, and I have noticed some bugs with it. I am playing some old games that do not work with Windows 10, but I have noticed after a while, the game stops working or crashes every time. It is strange because for the first few days of installing the virtual desktop and the game it works fine, but after a while, it always crashes. And these games are compatible with Windows XP but for some reason, they still don't display properly. The game has low FPS and it flickers quite a lot. And then it always crashes after some more time. Is this coming from my PC or from the Virtual Machine? And how can I resolve this? Thanks!

Windows XP is out of support, and has been for some time.

I see, are there any other versions of Windows that I can use to play old games on Virtual Machines then?
