Permisions in order to create a SharePoint website

Question

How am I able to get the right permissions in order to start a website in SharePoint?

As of right now in my SharePoint I do not have the create a website button, only the create news post.

I would like to create a website for my branch.

Hi @Bryanna Lavergne ,

Please go to SharePoint admin center>Settings>Site creation>Open the Let users create sites from the SharePoint start page and OneDrive.

Hi @Jinwei Li-MSFT ,

Unfortunately, when I tried to click the SharePoint admin center link in your link that you have provided it told me that my email (my account) does not have access to even go to the SharePoint admin center.

So I am a bit confused on what is going on. Could it be because I am a student and not a full-time employee to the government?
