Linking Work Account to Personal account - Microsoft certification dashboard

Hi there,

I have a work Microsoft account which is entitled to free Microsoft exams however I already have a couple of certifications in my personal account. I can see there is a option in the edit profile, under exam discounts to link a work or school account (more detail here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/redeem-discounts).

If I do this, will I be able to get the free exams entitled to my work account?
Also what does account "linking" mean exactly. What control will my employer have over my personal account?
If I leave my place of work, can I easily unlink the work Microsoft account from my profile and not lose the certifications I have obtained?

Thanks
