I recently got a brand new computer with the latest version of Windows 10. I'm not sure if this problem was there from the beginning or not but for a while now, I cannot use the search bar in the task bar as well as the search function in the file explorer. When I try to type something into these search bars, it will maybe let me type 2 or 3 characters, if at all, and then reset as if I never clicked on the search bar.
The troubleshoot says that the permissions for Windows Search are wrong, I tried almost every solution to this I could find online with no result.
In addition to this, some Microsoft Apps like the Photo app, Mail app and the Microsoft Store crash as well after opening them or after clicking something in the app.
I am starting to get desperate for a solution to this because especially the search function not working is quite annoying. I can't reset my PC to a snapshot of when it worked and I don't have a Windows Installation medium to reboot it, although this seems to become the easiest solution at the moment.
I'd really love to know what the issue is and if there is any way to fix it or if it would just be simpler to reinstall Windows completely.
Are there crucial files missing or can't they be found? Someone even suggested it could be a virus (although I haven't seen much evidence of this being true)
I'm not that much into the tech site of this stuff but tell me if you need more information and I will try my best to provide it.
