hi folks,
We are upgrading sql 2012 to 2016. Currently we have Business Intelligence Edition.
Is there a separate license for this edition like standard/datacenter/enterprise?
Is it possible to upgrade current environment to developer edition and then upgrade it to BI edition.

"Business Intelligence Edition" no longer exists.

As Tom said, see this part in the link which Tom post:
Is it possible to upgrade current environment to developer edition and then upgrade it to BI edition.
So you can have another choice that drop the current version and reinstall SQL Server.
