No VMs available?

Hi I've been working on an Azure Virtual Desktop deployment. Now that I have this long weekend to finalize it, I'm finding that I am not able to get VMs in ANY nearby region. Is this really the case or is there something I am missing in my Azure subscription? It seems almost nothing is available. I even deprovisioned my testing VMs before and can't get those skus back.

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft QnA.
May I know which regions are you trying to deploy your VMs to? I hope you have the quota available for the specific sku of VM that you are trying to deploy. If quota is available, then can you specify which regions have you tried deploying the VM till now? There are a few Azure regions that are facing capacity constraints, so it can possibly be that you are deploying your VM in one of those regions. Thanks. Please tag me in your response.

It sounds like you haven't register the required resource provider to get start with Azure Virtual Desktop. Make sure you've registered the Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization resource provider for your subscription.

To check the status of the resource provider and register if needed:

Sign in to the Azure portal.

Select Subscriptions.

Select the name of your subscription.

Select Resource providers.

Search for Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization.

If the status is NotRegistered, select Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization, and then select Register.

Verify that the status of Microsoft.DesktopVirtualization is Registered.

Thank you for the response, but I duplicated the resource providers from my previous subscription. I get zero useful VM's in the three regions closest to me. None of them are even close to the scope of what I need (general use). One of them, "West Central US" shows no VMs available at all! I tested this by setting my region to "Japan East" and I basically get the full list of VMs ready to use. Of course, that's way outside what I need.

It also appears that product availability listing is inaccurate since it shows availability of the general use VMs in all 3 regions relevant to me: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/global-infrastructure/services/?products=virtual-machines

I hope, someone from MSFT Azure team can only look in to the issue and suggest further, as it can be checked from their side only

I have the same issue. Australia was the only region I could find VM's and couldn't set up a resource pool.

Seems like there is a supply chain crisis.

I got through it by switching subscriptions to one from a reseller. Its not what I wanted to do, and it added a TON of time to this work, but it got me machines for now. That's the only advice I can give. I was previously denied a single core for an app as well. I'd guess the supply chain is strained.
