Does zencoding extension not work with visual studio 2017 anymore?

I have Visual Studio Professional 2017 installed in my Windows 10 PC. Although, I already installed Web Essentials 2017 by Mads Kristensen in Extension and Updates of VS, I can't see ZenCoding installed in the extension list as per mentioned in the Visual Studio marketplace site. When I try to install ZenCoding separately from Tools > Extensions and Updates > Online > Search, it doesn't appear in the list at all.

While checking the site for ZenCoding, it is mentioned that ZenCoding works with VS 2019 and 2020. Does that mean it doesn't work with VS 2017 anymore? Otherwise, how can I make use of it in VS Professional 2017?

Hi, As we were using the visual studio professional 2017 in the year 2020 for fly kitchen. But I have the habit of updating my self so I shifted toward video studio. But in the last week I need some previous work of 2020 so when I open visual studio professional 2017 so the extension list was creating alot of trouble and haven't able to see our old work. I tried a little bit to fix it but unable to do that.

Seems like they discontinued support for using ZenCoding in Visual Studio 2017. It is supposed to be part of Web Essentials extension suite by Mads Kristensen. Although most contents of the suite get installed, ZenCoding is left out. It doesn't even appear in the list of installation.

I already dropped a grievance issue over here: GitHub - ZenCodingVS. Let's see if they come up with some satisfactory reply.

Meanwhile, as you too are facing almost a similar problem, you may also drop a complaint on the GitHub page of ZenCoding. Multiple complaints may push them to look into the matter and fix it.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Typically, it’s correct, the Work with lists the supported Visual Studio versions. Versions of VS which are not listed mean they are not supported by this extension.

It’s better to confirm this by asking here: GitHub - ZenCodingVS.

Thanks for providing the GitHub link of ZenCoding. I already dropped a grievance issue there. I'll get back once I get something feasible from there.

Users at GitHub page of ZenCoding suggested me to update to Visual Studio 2022, as backward support is probably getting pulled back on extensions. Hence, I updated to Visual Studio Professional 2022, where ZenCoding is working properly. However, Web Essentials doesn't work anymore now as the latest release of it is of 2019.
