Hi Team,

We are using an Application Gateway in production environment which is in standard mode, Now we have decided to change from Standard to WAF v2.

My Question is that, What is the pre-req. to change for the same, there any kind of impacts in my environment and attached Rule under the application gateway like backend pool, Path base routing etc. ?

Please suggest me how to be change it.

As per my understanding from the question above you are planning on upgrading your Application Gateway Standard V1 to Application Gateway Standard with WAF V2 in your production environment.

If my understanding above is correct you can follow this documentation to create WAF_v2 gateway. Please go through this Limitations section before you run the script to migrate your application gateway. As you are enabling WAF for your gateway, it is recommended that you run a newly deployed WAF in Detection mode for a short period of time in a production environment. This provides the opportunity to obtain firewall logs and update any exceptions or custom rules prior to transition to Prevention mode. This can help reduce the occurrence of unexpected, blocked traffic.
