Asset deletion in Purview Catalog

Question

Hi all,

If I read scan related information in the Microsoft documentation, it says that it will delete the asset in catalog after a scan finds it as deleted in actual source. But it also says that, sometimes asset won't be deleted even after the scan is run. This is confusing. Can someone please clarify.
