Cannot create .aab Archive using Visual Studio. Keep geeting .apk format

I have been at it for a few days now but no matter what I do my Visual Studio 2019 refuses to generate .aab package format for my Android C# project.
First screenshot is from the Android Options Screen in Project Properties.
Second one is the Archive Manager after it has generated the archive.

In my testing, it will generate
.aabfile correctly.If you create a new project, and archive your application with the following steps, would the issue occur?
- Right click your project, and select .Properties
- Navigate to .Android Options
- Change your configuration to Release.
- Change the Android Package Format to .bundle
- Generate the app bundle by right clicking your project and selecting.

I upgraded to Visual Studio 2022 and for now the issue has been resolved. I am able to generate the .aab file successfully.
