Populate a new browser tab with the URL visible

Hi,

I have added some Edge Chromium browser registry settings to automatically populate a new tab (when opened) with the same URL as the configured home page URL. This works ok except the URL for the site doesn't appear in the address bar - it is blank. I have replicated the behaviour for a different site as well and also with a different browser (Google Chrome). Can anyone help/ advise on how to make the URL visible please.

The first page/ tab that is opened will display the page and URL correctly. This behaviour is the same for any browser. If I open another tab (which is set to automatically display the same URL as before i.e. the home page - in this case https://portal.office.com/....) the page opens but the URL is not displayed.

In order to test this I created the a registry configuration which works apart from the missing URL. This will be pushed out to multiple users so managing this directly through the Edge browser settings on a client is not an option.

    Hi @Big Raven28 ,

Based on the configuration information provided, they appear to be correct. You can also try configuring the same group policy in Chrome and see if you have the same problem. Depending on the results of testing in Chrome, this may be by design or an error in Edge. You can send feedback (reporting issues or making suggestions) to the relevant team on this issue. Just press Shift + Alt + I in Edge to edit the content and send it.

In addition, if you want to open a specific site in a new tab, you can also do this with an extension. For example this one : Cutome new tab.

    Regards,
