On Windows Server 2019, after setting a white wallpaper, I have a problem with shadows under the icon text. When hovering the mouse cursor the shadow disappears. The icon text stays white and is invisible.

I have several RDS servers (clones) and the problem is random not on every one.

    Hi there,

You should be able to remove the shadows by right-clicking on This PC and selecting "Properties" and in "Advanced System Settings"

Click "Setting" on the "Performance" box of the window that opens. You should see a selection for "Drop Shadows" at or near the bottom of the list.

You can also edit the registry to get this sorted. Navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

-Double click on the ListviewShadow option.
-Change the value of ListviewShadow 1 to 0 to disable the shadow effect

    Hi,
I tried both of these options. They have no effect.

The best option is not to use a white background, if you do need to use a white background, change the colour of the icon text so they are a different colour.

This article has details on change icon fonts https://allthings.how/how-to-change-desktop-icon-font-color-in-windows-10/
