    Hi,

Thank you for posting your issue to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Except running Printer Troubleshooter, please kindly also check if below troubleshooting steps help.

    1. Set Print Spooler service start-up type to Automatic. Also ensure that HTTP Services and the Remote Procedure call (RPC) service is set to Automatic.
    2. Change Print Spooler Recovery options. Click on the Recovery tab. Click on the drop-down buttons beside First failure, Second failure, and Subsequent failures and set them to Restart the Service
    3. When the print spooler service is in the stop status, try to delete Print Spooler cache. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and delete all the files in the folder. Then restart the PC.
    4. Delete Unnecessary Registry Keys.
Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Print Processors, delete everything in that path except for winprint folder.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrintProviders, delete non-default providers except LanMan Print Services and Internet Print Provider.
    5. Remove Duplicate Printer Drivers

    Best regards,

I am experiencing this issue on a Server 2022 Standard VM. Only thing I can find is an event log showing the service being disabled by the local system account SID. The printers are network so no USB to unplug. No files in system32\spooler\printers, no one is using the printers connected to this server yet. Happens daily. Anyone find any other info to this mystery?

    Hi MRAKESH-5751,

Before you do anything else, run the troubleshooter. Windows 10 has a built-in Printer Troubleshooter that can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues while printing.

Next check that the print spoiler is set to automatic.

    To run the troubleshooter:

Press the Windows key+ X and select Settings.
Type Troubleshoot on the search box and click on Troubleshooting Settings.
Locate and click on the Printer troubleshooter and follow the prompts.
Wait for the process to detect the problems that cause the printer spooler to keep stopping, and try to fix them.
    Run printer troubleshooter
Restart your PC (Windows) after the process is complete.
    Check the problem is resolved.

None of these solutions have made any difference. The print spooler still gets disabled every couple of days.
