Unable to connect to azure server using linked services, load fail after selecting certificate to authenicate

Currently having this issue when creating a link service and now all my previous workflow are unable to connect as well. I have cleared all cache and log out of all accounts and restarted and the issue persist Failed to get response from server, please check network connection and retry. Your situation sounds very painful, but I cannot help until I have more context. Could you please clarify some points and add any information you think would be helpful?

What exactly are you trying to connect to. You mention Azure server. Is this Azure SQL server?

You said your previous workflows are now unable to connect as well. Did all those workflows use the same Linked Service, or were there other sources/sinks involved?

Were you creating a new linked service or editing an existing one?

Is your Data Factory in a Vnet or have other security/network features enabled?

Have you ever been able to successfully connect using this certificate?

Are there any on-premise assets involved in this?

I am too experiencing same issue while creating linked server from my data factory to data lake -

Were you creating a new linked service or editing an existing one?Ans- Creating a new one.

Is your Data Factory in a Vnet or have other security/network features enabled? Ans- No , my azure data factory is not in azure virtual network but under same resource group.

Have you ever been able to successfully connect using this certificate? Ans- I tried for first time,and connection is not getting created.

Are there any on-premise assets involved in this? Ans- No

I am too experiencing the same problem. However the certificate is not displayed when i delete the linked service and create a new linked service. on the second link service the error remains the same. There is no certificate being displayed on the demo i am seeing. is this some thing new that has been added?

My Storage account, sql server database and data factory are all under same resource group.

Hi, I have the same issue.

When I create a new Data Factory and then create a new linked service then I receive the same error. But When I create the linked service in an existing Data Factory it works fine.

create a new data factory and when the certificate is displayed, press cancel followed by clicking the test connection button

go to browser settings --privacy and security---- certificates----and delete the certificate added.

Then close and reopen browser.

Hopefully it will help.

I have exactly the same issue. It just happened 20 minutes ago. All our pipelines in ADF that were working, I can no longer access after adding the new certificates.

Thank you all for bringing this issue to our attention. I have escalated this internally, and out engineers are looking into the issue. I will add comments to this thread when I know more.

In the meantime, here is a suggested workaround:

1) Open Azure Data Factory in Chrome or Edge browsers in private/incognito mode

2) While creating/editing the Linked Service , hit Test Connection

3) Click Cancel (don't select any certificate).

Thanks for reporting this issue. As per the latest update from Product team, this issue has been mitigated in all regions and you should no longer experience it.

Could you please try refreshing your browser and let us know if the issue still persists while creating/editing the linked service?
