Sharepoint links to documents are not working for some documents

Hi,

We are having some issues with document links generated for some documents using the People in <My Organisation> with the link option.

When users try to open these links, they get the following:

Using the other option People with existing access works. The users (including myself, an administrator) are able to access the files, it's not a permissions issue, just with links created using the first option above.

If anyone can explain this behaviour, that would be pretty excellent.
