Deploying Windows updates with different deployment maintenance windows using automatic deployment rules

I am unclear about deploying Windows updates with different deployment due dates.

For example, I have a Windows Servers 2022 collection with the following maintenance windows:

  • An All Deployments window from 08:00 to 12:00 daily.
  • An Software Updates window from 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays only.

I deploy Windows updates with an ADR that makes the updates available immediately and deadlines them immediately as well. Since a Software Updates window is defined, they are deferred and automatically deployed on Saturday.

I deploy malware updates with an ADR the exact same way, but since a Software Updates window exists, I can't force them to install immediately?

According to configure-business-hours, you can create a deployment that ignores maintenance windows?

How do you do this?

Thanks!

On the deployment, there are two settings to ignore maintenances windows for enforcement and to ignore them for restarts. Simply select these options when creating the deployment on the ADR (or edit the existing ADR deployment to select these). These options are on the user experience tab.
