I can't get into MS Teams accounnt from Linux host

I installed teams package on my Ubuntu 20.04 host.

I think my account on MS Teams is messed up. I want a personal account, but on one of my passes I may have selected a business account.

I have installed the MS Teams application on my Linux host and when I enter my microsoft username and password I get a message that says:

Someone has already set up Teams for your organization. Ask your admin to get started with Teams or setup another org in Teams using a different email address.

I also have the MS Teams application installed on my Mac. Interestingly enough I can get into Teams from it. But, only after many attempts. Too many to remember what particular sequence actually got me in. There were various questions and multiple logins. They are of the ilk that I may have both a Personal and Business account with the same username. I am hesitant to exit the Mac MS Teams app and try to get back in because I am afraid I won't be able to get back in.

Any pointers on how I can clear this up so I can access Teams from either my Linux host or my Mac?

Thanks

    Hi @Chris Kottaridis ,

However if while in Chrome I click on use "use browser" it gets me in.
Not sure why the app has a problem.
But I have something workable now.

Thanks for sharing the update and great to know that you can now get it work by accessing https://teams.live.com from the supported browser. So it finally turns out that you are indeed using a personal account which is currently not supported on Teams Linux client. (See the discussion in this thread for more information. )

With the above being said, I'd recommend just visiting https://teams.live.com from the browser as you did above when you need to access Teams from the Linux host. Meanwhile, I searched a lot and found a feature request has already been submitted to the dedicated feedback portal for Microsoft Teams. I've added my vote for it and I'll leave the link below so that you or others who read this thread can also help add votes or comments there. Hopefully we can see this realized in the near future:
Enable using personal accounts in the linux client.
