Is there any way to have VBA/Macros working within Teams to avoid having to open the Excel file in Desktop App? A workaround if not directly possible?

Is co-authoring be possible in Desktop App?

    Hi @Terry Chan ,

Is there any way to have VBA/Macros working within Teams to avoid having to open the Excel file in Desktop App? A workaround if not directly possible?

I am afraid no, it's currently not feasible to use Excel VBA/Macros within Teams, and as far as I know, there's no other alternative available except working on the file in Excel desktop client. Below is a relevant post I found in the dedicated feedback portal for Microsoft Teams. I've already voted it and you can also add vote or comment there. Hopefully this feature can be added in the near future.
Support macros and VBA in Excel workbooks.

Is co-authoring be possible in Desktop App?

Are you referring to co-authoring Excel files in Teams application? If this is the case, yes, it's supported.

If you have an excel docoment in TEAMS, you can parameter teams to pen the file in Excel instead of in a browser or in teams itself.

You can create excel or outlook macro's that open this excel file in teams.
Then in your personal marcors, you can create macro's to act on the excel file in TEAMS.
