Deployment Lab Kit cd.latest content unavailable

Working with the Windows 10 Deployment Lab Kit. CD.Latest folder content is unavailable and icon appears as a shortcut.

I am trying to walk through site recovery options including backup/restore and installation of passive site but all efforts fail as content of this folder is not available.

I have tried to update folder properties, mount baseline cd, copy iso content to new folder (same name) without any luck. I have also reinstalled kit on different hardware and disabled EDR at time of setup. I also ran a site upgrade from 2103 to 2203... while the upgrade executed, the cd.latest folder remains unavailable. I suspect I am overlooking something quite obvious but at a loss...

Is there workaround to recreate the content of the cd.latest to complete site recovery scenario?

    Hi @sgbtx-0892 ,

Since we have upgrade the version to 2203, we could install the 2203 baseline media to run it manually, and check if the site recovery option could be selected in getting started guide.

Here is the link about downloading 2203 baseline media:

    Thank you for responding.

The 2203 upgrade was originally applied via the in-console upgrade. I will recreate environment and attempt upgrade with standalone media instead. I have only run upgrades via in-console upgrades in production. For what it's worth, I did try the stand-alone media to recover the site and "recover site" option was not an available option (greyed out).

This is unique to the Deployment Lab Kit download. If I setup dev environment from scratch, then the cd.latest content is there and the passive server install and backup/restore function as expected.

Thank you for the follow-up. I was not able to complete the backup/restore procedure or passive install by running the standalone media. It did not recognized the installed site and only provided the 'primary' installation option (clean install), no maintenance options.

I ended up building out a completely new dev environment using another hydration kit and in that instance, the cd.latest folder was present, with content as expected and the passive install worked as well as backup/restore options.

It would be beneficial if the lab kit had the cd.latest embedded on the server or perhaps documented as a known issue and workaround.

    Thanks,
    Sara
