word 365 page goes blank when idle

Have a problem on Remote Desktop server. Leave Word idle (tried read mode and Print Layout views) for a few minutes and the text disappears:

Clicking back into the document restores the text:

Have tried disabling all addins.

You could try following method.

File > Options > Advanced. Check Disable hardware graphics acceleration under Display and click OK.

Hi, I had graphics hardware acceleration disabled. i understand MS are doing away with this option in Office and replacing with getting users to setting a graphics controller for each exe in graphics settings so I messed with that without success. I changed from semi-annual channel to monthly for Office updates and patched to current. I haven't been able to replicate the issue in this release.

Darn, had reports of this recurring today. I can no longer emulate it but have a user who noticed it several times today.

Your screen shot indicates that the sample document is saved to a network drive.

Do you see Word freezing / graying out even if the open document is saved locally to the C: drive?
