finding the right forum
I get to this web page: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home
The forums selection box shows two headings:
Using Forums
Archives
And nothing else. I repeat: Nothing else.
There is a never ending list of archived forums, but nothing else.
Where should I go to find the Visual Studio forums?

You can find VS forum tags by editing tags.
C++
tag is used for C++ programming problems.

Still, when the drop down states Archives, it clearly indicates that the items under that header are archived, which means not currently actively.
