finding the right forum

Question

I get to this web page: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home
The forums selection box shows two headings:
Using Forums
Archives
And nothing else. I repeat: Nothing else.
There is a never ending list of archived forums, but nothing else.

Where should I go to find the Visual Studio forums?

If you search Archived VC++ forum, it is at vcgeneral

Do you understand the meaning of the word "archive?" Something that is saved and is no longer in use. Evidently not. Here is a definition I just found:

a collection of historical documents or records providing information about a place, institution, or group of people:

Why should I go to an "archived" forum?
Where are the active forums?

You can find VS forum tags by editing tags. C++ tag is used for C++ programming problems.

you are in the correct forums already. Your link shows mostly old archived forums - these pages have moved to here. Nevertheless you can search for answers there. But if you want to ask a new question, you should post it here.

Still, when the drop down states Archives, it clearly indicates that the items under that header are archived, which means not currently actively.
