Excel 365 crashes when opening document from Sharepoint

I suddenly have 1 excel 365 file located on Sharepoint that will not open all the way. It has a pivottable that is linked to a Sharepoint List of data. I have other similiar files but this particular one starts to open and sometimes I can even get a half a second view and then excel closes. I have done all the possible updates and repairs suggested and nothing is correcting this.

And if I try to open it again, it just adds another document to the Recovery Documents list.

My Excel version is: Microsoft® Excel® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2205 Build 16.0.15225.20278) 64-bit

This is a file that I originally created and several people have saved since it's creation. I have tried to download and open the file...excel crashes on open.

I tried reverting back to an earlier version and I get the 'Something went wrong' page in Sharepoint and it will not save the previous version.

Is there somewhere in Sharepoint that I can look and see if the file is 'stuck' or maybe still open somewhere else and preventing it from opening all the way? It should work with multiple users so I don't know why that would happen.

I've tried so many things to find the problem ... I need new suggestions. I really don't want to recreate the file.

    Hi, @Larra Ray
You can try downloading the file locally first, disconnecting it from SharePoint, and see if the problem still occurs.

    Hi,

Here are a few additional things you can try-

    1. SharePoint stores a cache on your computer to improve performance. Sometimes, this cache can cause issues. Clearing the SharePoint cache might help resolve the problem.
    2. Instead of opening the file using the desktop version of Excel, try opening it in Excel Online. Go to SharePoint, navigate to the file, and click on it to open it in Excel Online. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the desktop version of Excel or if it's related to the file itself.
    3. Conflicting add-ins can sometimes cause issues with Excel files. Try disabling any add-ins that might be enabled and see if that allows you to open the file.
    4. It's possible that the file is locked by another user or process, preventing you from opening it fully. In SharePoint, go to the library containing the file and check if there are any locks or checked-out files. If you find any, try releasing the locks or contacting the user who has the file checked out.

    Best Regards.
