Hello,

I have a couple of questions regarding WSUS Products and classificaions.

I jsut installed brand new computers with Windows 10 Enterprise N version 2004.

  • I would like to know which products I have to select (because there are plenty of them) in order to avoid unecessary updates.
  • I would like also upgrade Windows 10 to a new version when it will be available from WSUS.

Can you please tell me what I have to tick in WSUS?

I have the same questions with Windows 2019 server.
I noticed on Microsoft Volume Licensing Server that the latest download for Windows 2019 is with the version 1909.

I have Windows 2019 Datacenter version 1809, how can I upgrade to version 1909 from WSUS?

Thank you in advance and Regards,
William

    Hello William,

Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

Please tick the following Products and Classifications in Windows 10 2004:
Products: Windows 10, version 1903 and later
Classifications: Critical Updates, Definition Updates, Security Updates and Upgrades

Note that if there are Windows 10 1903 before version clients in your environment, please tick this Products - Windows 10 as the following picture:

In addition, We could not upgrade the Windows Server by WSUS. There are no related feature updates. In my opinion, there is no need to upgrade the Windows Server 2019 to the latest version.

    Regards,
    Rita

    Hi William,

    Thanks for your response.

In my opinion, there is no need to tick the other options if you don't want to deploy the Drivers updates through WSUS. In addition, I synced the Products - Windows Server 2019 and later, servicing Drivers and Windows Server 2019 and later, Upgrade & Servicing Drivers in my lab environment.
