Jet databases - rapidly growing on Windows 10 since Security Update

Hi,

I develop software that is used by many customers. In this case the applications are running queries against an access database (some DAO, some ADO). Reports have started coming in of databases rapidly growing up to the 2GB limit and then the applications fail. As far as i can tell this is associated with security updates. e.g. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4556826/windows-10-update-kb4556826

In that article it states "Security updates to... and the Microsoft JET Database Engine."

I have done much investigation and a workaround for the problem is to change from using stored procedures (queries) to SQL/text queries. Unfortunately this impacts hundreds of queries in many applications. Even then I am struggling to resolve all of the database growth and even reducing the rate of growth to 5% of what it was does not represent a solution for the customers.

I really need this to be fixed at the lower level. I cannot even uninstall the Security Updates on my own PC because of IT restrictons.

I should have posted this earlier (maybe in a different forum?). Microsoft resolved my issue in updates around 8th September 2020. We instructed our customers to get the latest updates and that resolved their issues.
