I understand that you are trying to reset a forgotten password.
Typically to reset a password you would follow the regular password reset steps documented here and verify your identity via MFA. If your account is enabled for SSPR, you can go directly to the SSPR portal to reset the password. If you are enabled for SSPR, you will also be able to set up your security info in the My Accounts page and add password reset methods. You mention that you do not use the account often, so it is worth noting that accounts will be closed after 1-2 years of inactivity depending on when the account was created. If the password reset steps do not work, you can follow the steps for when you can't reset a password.
If neither of these solutions work, you can fill out the Microsoft account recovery form.
In Azure AD, if you are the only admin for the school's Azure AD tenant and you are completely blocked out, you will need to contact the Azure Data Protection team. This is their number: 866-807-5850
