questions around vhdx and its problem .

Question

i save my vhdx file in volume d but after using my vhdx (100gb) my volume d space is also used . so does using my full vhdx that is 100 gb my volume also stores the files of 100 gb and why does the windows give us free space like vhdx and what is payback of using it does it lower down my performance or my space . how does this vhdx work .

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query related to .vhdx size.

Please note that .vhdx file is virtual disk file if its fixed then It will take Entire allocated size to .vhdx and if its Dynamic disk then it was take only spaced used inside the .vhdx
