What do the values/icons in the "Published" column of the Assets page in Azure Media Services mean?

I can't find any documentation that explains this column (see images). There also aren't any tooltips that explain it or other info that I can find.

Sometimes the "Link" icon is off, then it turns on after refreshing the table...what is that for?
What does the number mean? I've seen it be 0 or 1, can it ever be 2? What does it represent?

Can anyone explain each of the parts of the column? Is there documentation somewhere that I just haven't found?

Hi Nate,
It may not be very intuitive if you are coming in from knowledge of the API directly. This is essentially listing the "Streaming Locators" that are attached to the Asset. We used to call this "published" in the older v2 API, and it still sorta means the same thing. Basically it is showing you the count of "published" Streaming Locators that have a URL to the asset that is accessible externally on your running Streaming Endpoints.

Let us know if you have suggestions on better ways to show this or better explanations in the portal. I can have the portal team look at this thread and make some modifications.

What does the link icon indicate, why is it on sometimes and off other times?

As far as suggestions go for improving the explanations....this is going to sound sarcastic and I apologize, but documenting what it means somewhere....anywhere, really would be pretty helpful.

This could be:

Using one of the "info" icons (that are used in other places in the portal UI) on the "Published" column header that explain it.

Providing tooltips when a user hovers over the column or over a value in a row that describe the value or at least give a name to the icons and numbers so I know what to call them.

A link somewhere that leads the user to documentation that explains this screen, the columns, and values in their entirety.

Really, any of those....maybe ALL of those. Right now, it's none of those. Again really not intending to be cynical or sarcastic but it would be very helpful if the documentation provided that information.

Hi Nate,
The team is working on some fixes to the UX in the portal based on your feedback. The link icon just represents if the asset has a locator attached to it. One or more. We discussed that icon internally and the tooltips on this and see that it is confusing. We plan to remove the icon and just list the published locators on the asset. Hope that will help with the confusion and thanks again for your feedback and suggestions!
