Will Microsoft send SMS messages to Twilio phone numbers for authentication purposes?

Per Twilio 2022,

"Kindly validate with Microsoft if they are able to send messages to VOIP numbers, as stated in previous message, or if they are getting any error when trying to send the message to your number."

Apologies for the delay in answering this post. As I understand you want to know whether Microsoft send SMS messages to Twilio phone numbers.

Did a quick research on this ask, unfortunately Twilio is leveraging VoIP, hence its not possible to send SMS to Twilio phone numbers.

Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentication calls are placed through the public telephone network (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-mfa-mfasettings#phone-call-settings:~:text=Azure%20AD%20Multi%2DFactor%20Authentication%20calls%20are%20placed%20through%20the%20public%20telephone%20network).

@Givary-MSFT - I am hoping you can clarify something for me. You state that Twilio is using VoIP and therefore SMS messages cannot be sent, but I can send SMS messages to a Twilio number from my cell phone. We are using MFA with some Azure accounts that were created just for testing (no real data or any reason they cannot be shared). They share those accounts because they have different permissions and things like that, so we are trying to use a Twilio to Slack integration to see the codes.
