Hi,
We are upgrading around 5,000 computers from Windows 1909 to 21H2 using a CM upgrade package and task sequence. This is working for the vast majority of computers.
However, there are two Dell models (5480 and 5490) that run the upgrade task sequence, report success in smsts.log but after restarting still report as 1909.
Anyone seen this?
Thanks

Any chance you have continue on error in some steps in TS? If not, try to find, will smsts.log contain any 0x19c type of codes which should reveal you the exit code and reason why IPU did not executed. There is also an small app for IPU troubleshooting - it is basically small setup program which will analyze your current setup and reveal you the reason.

Also I remember a year ago there was a huge problem with Conexant audio drivers preventing IPU to succeed, but it did fail then.

There are no errors at all in smsts.log.
I also cannot find any errors in any of the logs in c:\windows\logs\mosetup.
I agree though that the only possible thing I can think of is driver issues as it only fails on certain Dell models.
