Doubled Email read confirmation

Hello everyone,
when i send an Email and i ask for a read confirmation it works fine and i receive 1 mail confirmation when the user reads my mail.
But when i send an appointment, i receive 3 mails. 1 for the accepted appointment from the user, and 2 read confirmations....
Does anyone have the same issue or any ideas?

Did you set a read receipt in outlook? You can refer to the link below to see if there is a problem with your configuration, and I will test it in a test environment and let you know the results.

thank you for the reply, you are right i have activated in Outlook the option to receive a read receipt.
Like that:
When i or my colleagues sent an Email to a person, we receive 1 read receipt as expected. Nothing wrong here.
When i sent to a person an appointment, i receive 2 read receipts back (and of course the appointment confirmation)...!!!
I have also created appointment without booking a meeting room, just in case the second read receipt was automatically created as the request was accepted from the meeting's room mailbox.

If your issue is not resolved, I wonder if the same situation will happen if you change an appointment? Do you have the same problem working on OWA? You can take a screenshot of your question and pay attention to protecting private information. -

2022-07-05T08:37:12.16+00:00 A meeting confirmation and a read receipt is normal, i receive one extra read receipt.
As you can see i have created an appointment Test2. I receive the meeting confirmation and 2 read receipts!
The test3 appointment has been created in OWA, for that i did not receive a read receipt.
The settings in Outlook seem fine, you can also compare (sorry they are in German).

Is it that all users have such a problem? What is your outlook version? If it is not the latest, I recommend that you update to the latest version.
You can try to start outlook in safe mode to see if the problem persists; You can also turn on cache mode to see if the problem persists. -

the problem had been reported by 2 users. I then run some tests on my pc and found out that occured to me as well. I then tried another one random PC and once again the same issue. So i assume we have general the issue in thole company but since not everyone uses read receipts is not easily recognisable.
As far as your questions are concerned.
I have the latest Outlook version installed.
Cache is activated.
By using the Safe mode i receive no read receipts whatsoever.

Whether both users have read receipts turned on, in my test, if both sides have read receipts turned on, they will receive two emails.
