Hi,
we have an app in the store which requires a specific piece of hardware (requiring a matching driver).
The driver for this hardware is certified and available through Microsoft Update mechanism, but apparently not for Windows S.

The app is targeting "Windows.Desktop" device family with a minimum version of "10.0.17763.0".

Despite putting a note somewhere in the app description that the hardware does not support Windows S mode, I'd prefer to
hide the app from stores when Windows S is used.

So that's the question; is there a way to exclude the app from the Microsoft Store for devices running Windows S ?

Thanks

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

is there a way to exclude the app from the Microsoft Store for devices running Windows S ?

I have to that the answer is no. Currently, the device family that you could choose only contains these types :

    • Windows 10/11 Desktop
    • Windows 10 Mobile
    • Windows 10/11 Xbox
    • Windows 10 Team
    • Windows 10 Mixed Reality

Windows S is a part of the Windows 10/11 Desktop. So you can't just exclude the app from devices running Windows S

    Thank you.
