Custom Excel Functions not Appearing Online

I followed the tutorial:
However, I cannot get the functions to appear in Excel Online after loading the manifest. I can see the taskpane appearing but when I type "=CONTOSO..." in any cell nothing appears. The weird thing is that the add-in works perfectly when I load it in the desktop version of Excel. There are also no error messages that would suggest the add-in was improperly loaded.
Are there special settings for Excel Online that must be enabled? Kinda lost here. In order for our workflow to operate we must have these function operational in Excel Online and not just the desktop version.
