Wrong version of Windows 10 is being installed from Activation Key

I recently performed a fresh re-installation to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 'home'. Once this had completed, I changed my product key to a Windows 10 'Pro' to upgrade the version.

Instead of activating Windows 10 'Pro' the system upgraded to Windows 10 'Enterprise'. I do not have a key for 'Enterprise' so now cannot activate, and no options are given to downgrade to Home or Pro. It will not allow me to re-enter the 'Pro' activation key.

In order to try and recover my Digital licence key, I use troubleshooting, then click 'I recently changed my hardware', from the 'Activation' page, but get the following errors:

"Windows edition on the devices listed below don’t match the Windows edition installed on the device you’re using right now."

"We can’t find any devices linked to your Microsoft account that can be used for reactivating the device you’re using right now. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Microsoft account you linked to the Windows 10 digital license on this device or try again later."

    Hello,

Go to Settings app > Update & security > Activation> Change product key. Type the Pro edition generic key first:

    VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

You should be downgraded to Pro edition now. Now use Pro edition unique key to activate.

    Hi,

From my research, we can downgrade Windows 10 Enterprise to Pro by modify registry, but after degrading, your system might be non-activated, and you still need a Windows 10 Pro ISO image or a bootable USB drive or a DVD drive.

Therefore, directly execute a clean install seems more simple, just buy a product key, then get your Windows 10 pro from here.
