I have tested dozen time and I'm sure it happens on all Windows 10 version.

After I changed follow built-in accounts name in Computer Management:
Administrator
DefaultAccount
WDAGUtilityAccount

Then update failed with error 0x80070002 - 0x3001A

The problem is after I changed those names back to original still isn't working with same error.
I need that fixed to update my PC and keep my configuration and files...

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Display name is NOT required ,

You could try the following method.

    Stop the Windows Update Service.

Then delete all contents from the following location.

    C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Restart the computer and try to update again.

If it doesn't help, you could try Windows Update Troubleshooter.

    Hello,

Ideally the only default account you can log in with is Administrator. The other two accounts DefaultAccount & WDAGUtilityAccount are system managed accounts & does not have any connection to Windows updates.

From security point of view, MS itself recommends to either disable default Administrator account or rename it to some other name. So, it is not related to renaming the built-in account names. However, I would like to suggest below steps,

    1. Click Check for Updates.
    2. List down the update names/numbers.
    3. Start installing updates.
    4. Verify if the updates are getting stuck while downloading any specific updates.
    5. Note down the number of that update & try to download it offline from windows catalogue & run it manually.
    6. If it runs successfully, then it might be some connection issue.

    Regards,
    Amol

    Hello DisplaynameisNOTrequired

In this case the recommendation is to restore the system to a healthy state as well make a cleanup and reset of Windows Update:

    1. Reset Windows Update components: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/windows-update-resources#reset-windows-update-components-manually
    2. Run an image repair (recommended to run using a downloaded image, mounted) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/repair-a-windows-image?view=windows-11
    3. Cleanup the WinSxS folder: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/clean-up-the-winsxs-folder?view=windows-11
    4. Reboot and Check for Updates to confirm resolved
