Hi,

We have a strange problem. We use multifactor authentication in Office 365. After someone change the old password, the Outlook don't show the windows where we could type the new password, and the Windows 10 taskbar is freezed. The Start menu not open. We need to reinstall the Windows, because the other solutions don't help. We try to delete the user profile, reinstall the Office...etc.

Someone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks a lot!

    Hello Szilard

Outlook will not prompt immediately (approximately you have to wait at least one hour) because for your outlook client side (PC), the cached credentials are valid for as long as the existing token stored. Once the token expires, when outlook tries to pass the old credential, exchange will refuse them and prompt the password.

If you required to immediately prompt password once you changed at the Admin center, for your users on outlook client, you could ask them to accessing the Credential Manager and delete related office365 / Outlook credentials, so next time when they logged in, they would be prompted to enter their password with new one.

Other option is to implement policy to never cached credential but it is not ideal since you have to prompted password every time they restart outlook.
