As Microsoft is going to depreciate Basic Auth , we have some outlook users and there sign in showing IMAP with Basic Auth .

Want to know below for some users

  1. under product information it is showing Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise .
    2 .In outlook > File > Office Account > About gives me Version 2108 (Build 14326.20962) "Microsoft® Outlook® for
    Microsoft 365 MSO (16.0.14326.20936) 32-bit" License ID: EWW_9e7f9d3e-097d-45f3-a49b-
    129b62c3e4b4_acc0419eed3fa687a6.

Are they under legacy client or these outlook version are under modern Auth. I know outlook 2016 is using Modern Auth by default.

if possible also provide the brief details about the other different version which are under legacy client and other which are under Modern Auth.

    Hi @Microsoft Q & A

There should be no imapct to your current version.

According to this official document: UPDATE: Exchange Online deprecating Basic Authentication (Basic Auth)

Please note this change does not affect Outlook for Windows or Mac if they are already configured to use Modern Auth.
