64a: the "a" stands for ARM. So this version will only run on an ARM 64bit processor.
disk2vhd64a.exe command line ver still won't work even with win 8 compatiblity attempts
I am running Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 build 19042.631 and attempting to use the commandline version of "disk2vhd64a.exe" from Mark Russiniovich (note the "a" at the end of the "hd64a" string which is the 64 bit COMMAND LINE version of the program which is what I need. I don't care about the other GUI ver of the program..
The program complains that in can only run in win 8 compatibility mode and the compatibility troubleshooter gears the fix that way but nothing ever gets fixed.
In addition, if one clicks right on file "disk2vhd64a.exe" and selects properties, then the compatibility tab, then one clicks on the "run this program in compatibility mode for" checkbox, no list operating system options for selection ever becomes available in the drop down list (it just stays gray with no list of operating system options ever shown.
Incredibly annoying to say the least. Has anyone been able to fix this problem or do we need to wait until infinity for Microsoft to make this command line program work with windows 10 and 11?
Thanks
Ed R.
