SSRS email basic authentication replacement

Hi,

For sending emails from our SSRS environment we currently use basic authentication to connect SSRS to our Office 365 environment, with this being deprecated in the coming months does anyone have the new settings that will be needed to allow us to still email reports out to our clients.

Thanks,

Mike

    Hi @Michael Morris ,

with this being deprecated in the coming months

What do you mean by deprecated? I'm not familiar with how to connect SSRS to an Office 365 environment.
For inquiries about connecting to Office 365 products, please add the relevant tags for assistance.

    Hi @Michael Morris

Do you mean the SSRS ability to connect to Office 365 SMTP will be removed in a few months?

I didn't find any news about this, but if its updated version removes the feature, I think you can use the previous version to maintain this Function.

If I misunderstand your issue, please incorrect me.

    Regards,

    Zoe

    Hi @ZoeHui-MSFT ,

Thanks for your response, what I mean is that as SSRS uses basic authentication currently, this is meant to be disabled this year, though I believe you can leave it on if you wish to. I will not have control over the decision so there is a good chance I will not be able to this as a workaround. Do you know what the roadmap will be for the change to OAuth? Just attempting to pre-empt this before the change prevents connections completely and we can no longer send emails from our SSRS server.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Have the same question. Here's what he's referencing for the depreciation of basic authentication.

Anyone figure out a work around for this one yet?

    Thanks

I am currently looking at the option of SMTP Auth which will remain in place once basic auth.
