One other suggestion is to Stop and Start the VM and see if that helps.
Also, are you able to SSH into the VM?
If you are able to SSH to the VM, then check for the service status of the Azure Linux Agent and check if it is running. The service name can be walinuxagent
or waagent
.
service waagent status
If the service is running, restart it and see if that helps. If the service is stopped, start it, wait a few minutes, and then check the status again.
service waagent restart
service waagent start
If the agent is not in a ready state, it is usually due to some corruption of the agent which can be resolved by manually reinstalling the agent.
