SOLVED - Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Hidden Mailbox

Question

I have a hybrid environment and I'm having issues to send on behalf (as per below message) this is a shared mailbox, looks like is a knowing issue with Microsoft. The account already have all the permissions. This only happens with the account that is Hidden from the global address list.

and the issue only happened sending from outlook app, if I sent from the OWA Web is fine.

I remember in the past I've removed from the cache and type the address, used to work but doesn't work anymore.

I've tried multiple versions of outlook :

• Outlook 2019
• Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2204 Build 16.0.15128.20278) 64-bit

This is the expected behavior, the mailbox needs to be unhidden first, before you can use the send on behalf of functionality. A workaround is to add it as a contact first, then you can hide it from the GAL again. Read here for more details: https://practical365.com/how-to-send-as-a-hidden-mailbox/
