Transfer Windows license from old hard drive to a new SSD drive on a laptop

I purchased a laptop from Staples which came with Windows 10 installed and activated.

After 3 years of use, I am finding that I don't have enough hard drive space and want to replace my hard drive with a higher capacity. I am fine with reinstalling Windows from scratch on the new drive but don't know how I can transfer my Windows 10 license that came with the laptop from the old drive to a fresh installation of Windows 10 on a newly purchased SSD drive.

Please advise.

It is essential that you link your Microsoft account to the Windows 10 license on your device. Linking your Microsoft account with your digital license enables you to reactivate Windows using the Activation troubleshooter whenever you make a significant hardware change.
