Need windows xp update

Hello Everyone,

I am in desperate need to locate a windows XP update KB969442. I understand that is XP is no longer support it and I no longer want to support these machines, but my customers now are unable to swap to windows 10 due to custom software the XP machines use. Hopefully, someone at Microsoft or on these forums can help me locate this update. It looks like this update will allow us to connect to win server 2019

I downloaded Hotfix KB969442 from here... Fixes the issue.

In our case, the KB969442 is the key to fix the issue, not the superseded kb969084. We got misled by this superseded kb and spent extra hours/day on this issue.

I ended up throwing it in the towel. I found a Windows server 2012 installation and product key and I created an offline child domain that is only to be used for Windows XP, and that resolved the issue since 2012 was the last version of server that was truly compatible.

Hello EricLopez,

The Update has been replaced by KB969084 as it includes the same hotfix and further updates.

However, since Windows XP only Supports SMBv1 protocols, it may still not work correctly with Windows Server 2019.

This is excellent! Honestly once we re-enabled SMBv1 we started to recieve a completely different error message which was a lot better than the error message we were getting when SMBv1 was disabled. What is weird is that when I delete the XP machine from AD, and I go to add the XP machine back to AD the record gets created on the domain controller, but it's disabled. Re-enabling the AD record does absolutely nothing. It looks like we are getting a Kerberos and DCOM error when trying to rejoin the domain with the XP machine. This gives me something to go off of.

Not sure what is meant but enabling SMBv1 should allow a network connection.

Hello,

So we have done that. We re-enabled SMBv1 on the dc server. All of this is air gapped so it has no access to the internet at all. Hello,

I did try that update and it was a no go for me. I ended up building a Windows Server 2012 child domain off of the parent, and I was finally able to successfully connect the windows xp machines to the domain. I did make sure SMBv1 was enabled on all of the 2019 servers, but they just wouldn't reconnect. The 2012 AD server did allow for the machines to join the domain. I even put it on Hyper-V since it is only running two computers.
