Fetch data via Graph API without Exchange Online

I am using these Graph API endpoints:
GET /me/events
GET /me/messages

At the beginning of the year 2022 I could only fetch data via the Graph API from accounts which were using an Exchange Online.
This investigation was also approved by another forum user.

Now I can also fetch data from regular Outlook accounts (test@harsh.com .com) without an Exchange Online.
Did MS change something or was my investigation wrong?

Thank you in advance.

You've always been able to use those endpoints against consumer (outlook.com) accounts, afaik. In fact, when you register an Azure AD Application, you need to make the choice whether to include such accounts.
The answer Andy gave in the other thread pertains to on-premises (Exchange server) users.
